Aventura Wins Japan Gr1 Shuka Sho

In Japan yesterday, former Hollylodge Thoroughbreds & NZ Rich Hill Stud shuttler & 2001 Japanese Horse-Of-The-Year Jungle Pocket (Tony Bin-Dance Charmer, by Nureyev) added a Gr1 triumph when daughter Aventura (Jungle Pocket-Admire Sunday, by Sunday Silence) scored a 1,25-lengths victory in the ¥184.92 million (A$2.432m) Gr1 Shuka Sho (2000m) for 3YO fillies at Kyoto. Aventura (ridden by Yasunari Iwata for trainer Katsuhiko Sumii) defeated Kyowa Jeanne (Heart's Cry-Asaka Fuji, by Seeking The Gold) & Whale Capture (Kurofune-Global Peace, by Sunday Silence). Aventura now has 4 wins (also including August’s Gr3 Hokkaido Shimbun Hai Queen Stakes over 1800m at Sapporo, plus runner-up in last year’s Gr3 Sapporo Nisai Stakes over 1800m at Sapporo) from 6 starts for ¥179,220,000 (A$2.357m) earnings.
