Conservatorium Wins Durbridge Stakes

Former shuttler & now permanently Australian-based stallion Royal Academy (Nijinsky-Crimson Saint, by Crimson Satan) added a black-type success when favoured 4YO gelding Conservatorium (Royal Academy-Belong To Madam, by Belong To Me) scored a half-length victory in the $80,000 weight-for-age Listed Durbridge Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville in Adelaide. Conservatorium (ridden by Shayne Cahill for trainer Gary Kennewell) defeated 6YO gelding Catapulted (Catbird-Siren Miss, by Umatilla) & 8YO gelding Far Horizons (Scenic-Always Forever, by Snippets). Conservatorium (originally a $40,000 weanling consigned by Racetree as agent at the 2008 Magic Millions National Sale & subsequently a $50,000 yearling consigned by Emerald Thoroughbreds at the 2009 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale) now has 6 wins (also including March’s Listed Manihi Classic over 1200m at Morphettville) from 12 starts for $207,600 earnings.
