Tiakinui Wins Seymour Cup

Monday, 17th October 2011

NZ Cambridge Stud's Australian-bred stallion Keeper (Danehill-Nuwirah, by Pleasant Colony) added a black-type success (& 21ts individual stakes-winner) when 8YO gelding Tiakinui (Keeper-Avelina, by Nashwan) finished strongly from the tail of the field to score by a neck in yesterday’ $150,000 Listed Seymour Cup (1600m) at Seymour in Victoria. Tiakinui (ridden by James Winks for trainer Matthew Enright) defeated 4YO mare Smoulder (Traditionally-Flying Firebird, by Stravinsky) & 7YO gelding La Rocket (Rock Of Gibraltar-La Bella Dama, by Desert Sun). Tiakinui now has 8 wins & 7 placings from 26 starts for $224,276 earnings. (Click on the link for full race details from Group Race Results at AAP Racing.)
