Together Wins US Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup

In the US, former shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) added a Gr1 triumph when Irish-bred daughter Together (Galileo-Shadow Song, by Pennekamp) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the US$400,000 Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes (9 furlongs on turf) for 3YO fillies at Keeneland in Kentucky. Together (ridden by Colm O’Donoghue for trainer Aidan O’Brien) defeated Canadian-bred Marketing Mix (Medaglia D'Oro-Instant Thought, by Kris S) & Nereid (Rock Hard Ten-Dowry, by Belong To Me). Together was a 280,000 guineas (A$462,000) yearlingt at the 2009 UK Tattersalls October Sale. Overall she now has 3 wins (also including 2010’s Irish Gr3 Silver Flash Stakes over 6 furlongs at Leopardstown) & 8 placings (including last start’s US Gr1 First Lady Stakes over 8 furlongs at Keeneland on October 8, plus September’s Irish Gr1 Matron Stakes over 8 furlongs at Leopardstown, as well as both May’s Irish Gr1 1000 Guineas over 8 furlongs at The Curragh & UK Gr1 1000 Guineas over 8 furlongs at Newmarket, in addition to 2010’s UK Gr1 Fillies Mile over 8 furlongs at Ascot & Irish Gr2 Debutante Stakes over 7 furlongs at The Curragh) from 16 starts for US$840,712 earnings.
