Wednesday, 19th October 2011

In the French auction ring overnight, Laurent Benoit's Broadhurst Agency (acting for Louis Duquesne's Ecurie La Boetie) paid top price of €265,000 (A$358,000) for a filly by former shuttler Danehill Dancer (the 2nd foal out of unraced Rahy mare Alpha Lupi) during the 2nd session at the 4-day Arqana October Yearling Sale at Deauville. The filly (consigned from the Niarchos Family's Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard) is a 3/4-sister to this season’s Irish stakes-winning 2YO Tenth Star & Benoit told racingpost.com: "She is an outstanding filly, who has everything. She will go into training with Pascal Bary.” The filly’s dam Alpha Lupi is out of 5-time Gr1-winner & dual Classic winner East Of The Moon (who has [produced 4 stakes-winners) while Alpha Lupi’s grand-dam is the legendary Miesque.
