Magic Millions HIT Day-1: Average Down 4.4%

Thursday, 20th October 2011

Overall on Day-1 at Magic Millions, 78 lots sold for $3,233,000 million (down 31.7% on last year’s 109 sold for $4,733,500). The average of 41,499 was down 4.4% (last year $43,427) but the clearance rate improved to 69% (last year 67%). Magic Millions managing director Vin Cox commented: “There was strong demand on a number of lots through the top & middle of the market. We had a good line up of buyers from around the country as well as overseas - with a large percentage of horses sold to international buyers. Obviously the demand on the fillies wasn't as strong - there's no doubt buyers got some great value there.”
