Aust-Bred Always Certain Wins Singapore Gr1 Raffles Cup

In Singapore yesterday, multiple stakes-winning Arrowfield Stud stallion Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Singles Bar, by Rory's Jester) added a Gr1 triumph when Australian-bred 5YO gelding Always Certain (Not A Single Doubt-Akarana, by Akaaber) scored a 1-length victory & lead in an Australian-bred trifecta in the S$500,000 (A$400,000) Gr1 Raffles Cup (1800m) at Kranji. Always Certain (ridden by Australian jockey Vlad Duric for Australian trainer Michael Freedman) defeated Australian-bred 4YO gelding Clear For Action (Commands-Petal Power, by Exbourne) & fellow Australian-bred 5YO gelding Speed Baby (Fastnet Rock-Twisted Heart, by Distorted Humor). Always Certain (a $60,000 yearling at the 2008 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast) now has 7 wins (also including August’s Gr2 Chairman's Trophy over 1800m at Kranji & a track record in winning 2010’s Gr3 Committee's Prize over 1600m at Kranji) & 9 placings (including 2010’s Gr1 Singapore Guineas over 1600m & Gr3 3YO Sprint over 1200m, plus 2009's Gr3 Steward's Cup over 1400m & Gr3 Magic Millions Juvenile Championship over 1200m) from 25 starts.
