Aust-Bred Zabeel Son Wins Macau Gr2

In Macau, NZ Cambridge Stud's multiple champion sire Zabeel (Sir Tristram-Lady Giselle, by Nureyev) added a group success when Australian-bred 9YO gelding Jazza Bell (Zabeel-Alharir, by Jeune) scored by a neck in the HK$700,000 (A$91,000) Gr2 Autumn Trophy (1500m) at Taipa. Jazza Bell (ridden by Australian jockey Matt Pumpa for Australian trainer Peter Leyshan) defeated fellow Australian-bred 4YO gelding Lucky Jai (Noveree-Chinese Girl, by Wallenda) & 6YO gelding Easy Choice (Howbadddouwantit-Diamond Dust, by Jetball). Jazza Bell took his record to 7 wins (also including 2009’s Gr2 Director’s Cup over 1500m at Taipa) & 21 placings (also including – all at Taipa – 2011’s Gr2 Macau Cup over 1500m, Gr2 Director’s Cup over 1500m, 2010’s Gr2 Macau Cup over 1500m, Gr1 Macau Gold Cup over 1800m, Gr1 Macau-HK Trophy, 2009’s Gr3 Autumn Trophy over 1500m & Gr1 Macau Gold Cup over 1800m) from 59 starts for HK$4,095,350 (A$532,000) earnings.
