Monday, 24th October 2011

In the UK’s final Gr1 race of the 2011 flat season, dual-Derby winning stallion & former NZ shuttler Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) added a juvenile Gr1 triumph (& 99th individual stakes-winner world-wide) when unbeaten colt Camelot (Montjeu-Tarfah, by Kingmambo) scored a 2.25-lengths victory in the £200,000 (A$320,000) Gr1 Racing Post Trophy (8 furlongs) for 2YOs at Doncaster. Camelot (ridden by Joseph O’Brien for trainer Aidan O’Brien) defeated Irish-bred colt Zip Top (Smart Strike-Zofzig, by Danzig) & US-bred colt Fencing (Street Cry-Latice, by Inchinor).
