Monday, 24th October 2011

Multiple stakes-winning Arrowfield Stud stallion Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Singles Bar, by Rory's Jester) added a group success when favoured daughter Karuta Queen (Not A Single Doubt-Card Queen, by Final Card) led all-the-way to score a 2.75-lengths victory in the $150,000 Gr3 1300 Australia Stakes (1200m) for 3YOs at Moonee Valley. Karuta Queen (ridden by Tommy Berry for trainer Neville Layt) defeated fellow filly Miss Stellabelle (Dehere-Sam's Belle, by Spinning World) & top-weighted gelding Amah Rock (Fastnet Rock-Gainesville, by Afleet). Karuta Queen (a $30,000 yearling consigned by Turangga Farm at the 2010 Magic Millions January Gold Coast Sale) now has 6 wins (also including September’s Listed Heritage Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill & January’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic over 1200m at the Gold Coast, plus 2010’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic over 1000m at Wyong) & 3 placings (in last start’s Gr2 Schillaci Stakes over 1000m at Caulfield on October 8, plus August’s Gr3 San Domenico Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill & March’s Listed Black Opal Stakes over 1200m at Canberra) from 11 starts for $1,721,250 earnings.
