Lion Heart Adds US Black-Type

Monday, 24th October 2011

Multiple Gr1-winning former shuttler Lion Heart (Tale of the Cat-Satin Sunrise, by Mr Leader) added a US juvenile black-type success when daughter Bellacourt (Lion Heart-Gold Court, by Strike The Gold) scored a half-length victory in the US$100,000 Listed Joseph Gimma Stakes (7 furlongs) for 2YO fillies at Belmont Park. Bellacourt (ridden by Corey Nakatani for trainer James Lawrence) defeated Wildcat’s Smile (Forest Wildcat-Serenity's Smile, by Dixie Brass) & Lenders Way (Hook And Ladder-Stellar Maiden, by Raffie's Majesty). Bellacourt (a US$25,000 yearling at the 2010 Fasig-Tipton August Sale) now has 2 wins & a placing (in August’s Gr2 Adirondack Stakes over 6.5 furlongs at Saratoga) from 5 starts for US$101,550 earnings.
