Pinker Pinker Wins Gr1 Cox Plate

Unbeaten multiple Gr1-winning stallion Reset (Zabeel-Assertive Lass, by Zeditave) added a Gr1 triumph when consistent 4YO mare Pinker Pinker (Reset-Miss Marion, by Success Express) scored a surprise 1.25-lengths victory in the $3 million weight-for-age Gr1 W.S.Cox plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley in Melbourne. Pinker Pinker (ridden by Craig Williams for trainer Greg Eurell) defeated 4YO entire Jimmy Choux (Thorn Park-Cierzo, by Centaine) & 4YO gelding Rekindled Interest (Redoute's Choice-Rekindled Affair, by Rainbow Quest). Pinker Pinker (a $120,000 yearling consigned by Millford Thoroughbreds at the 2009 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale) now has 6 wins (also including September’s Gr2 Let’s Elope Stakes over 1400m at Flemington, March’s Gr3 Schweppervescence Trophy over 1600m at Flemington & February’s Gr2 Angus Armanasco Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield) & 4 placings (in last start’s Gr1 Epsom Handicap over 1600m at Randwick on October 1, plus September’s Gr2 Stocks Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley, April’s Gr1 Patinack Farm 100th AJC Oaks over 2400m at Randwick & March’s Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield) from 16 starts for $2,511,868 earnings.
