UK Tatts HIT Day-1: $413k Red Gulch

Tuesday, 25th October 2011

In the UK auction ring overnight, bloodstock agent Anthony Stroud (who bought Godolphin's Melbourne Cup contender Lost In The Moment at the same sale 12 months ago) paid top price of 250,000 guineas (A$413,000) for recent French stakes-winning 4YO gelding Red Gulch (Kyllachy-Enrapture, by Lear Fan) during the opening session at the 4-day Tattersalls Autumn Horses-In-Training Sale at Newmarket. Red Gulch was consigned from trainer Ed Walker’s stable & Stroud commented: “The horse looked magnificent. He moves well, got maximum marks from us & he suits the profile for Dubai. There is still some progression in him.” Red Gulch was previously purchased at this same sale last year for just 40,000 guineas (A$66,000).
