Bollinger Son Friesan Fire Retired To US Stud

Wednesday, 26th October 2011

US 5YO stallion Friesan Fire (the son of Australian Gr1 Coolmore Classic-winning mare Bollinger who won 3 successive US graded-stakes before starting favourite in 2009’s Gr1 Kentucky Derby) has been retired by Vinery’s Tom Simon & will begin stud duties at Merryland Farm in 2012. Friesan Fire (A.P. Indy-Bollinger, by Dehere) initially raced for Vinery, before a half-share was sold to Rick Porter’s Fox Hill Farms; they have joined with Merryland Farm owner Josh Pons to stand him for US$4,000 in Maryland. Kentucky-bred Friesan Fire’s 2nd dam was Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Bint Marscay & this is also the family of Australian track stars Filante, Kenny's Best Pal & Stella Cadente.
