Kentucky Yearlings Day-2: US$210k Unbridled's Song Filly

Thursday, 27th October 2011

Florida’s Adena Springs South general manager Mark Roberts (Adena Springs is the operation of multiple US Eclipse Award-winning breeder & owner Frank Stronach) paid US$210,000 for a filly by former Arrowfield Stud shuttler Unbridled's Song (out of Storm Cat mare Pure Symmetry) consigned by Peter O’Callaghan’s Woods Edge Farm as agent (for Florida horseman Justin Casse, who acquired her privately after she was bought-back for US$100,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling Sale earlier this year. The filly is a full-sister to winner American Song & a half-sister to another winner High Stakes Player. Their dam Pure Symmetry is a full-sister to English Gr1 & French Gr3-winner Sophisticat, Gr2-winner Grand Reward & Gr3-winner Schramsberg; Pure Symmetry also is a half-sister to Gr2-winner Harlington & stakes-winner Serena’s Tune. In addition this filly’s 2nd-dam is 1995 Champion 3YO filly & 11-time Gr1-winner Serena’s Song & Roberts told bloodhorse.com: “She's not typical for the sire, but I thought she was a very, very nice filly. She’s maybe not as big & as coarse (as some of the stallion’s offspring); she’s a very smooth filly. Her pedigree was a big incentive; you don’t get that kind of family just anywhere. I thought the price was fair.”
