Swain Retired From Stud Duty In Canada

In Canada, multiple Gr1-winning stallion Swain (Nashwan-Love Smitten, by Key To The Mint) who is “1 of only 2 horses to win back-to-back King Georges (UK Gr1 King George V Stakes) has been retired from stud duty” aged 19 at Ascot Stud in Ontario (where he stood for C$3,500 in 2011) & “will live out his days at Shadwell Farm in Kentucky, where he stood from 1998-2009” reported racingpost.com. Swain stood his 1st season at Shadwell for US$35,000 in 1999, following an outstanding career in which he won 10 of 22 starts (also including the French Grand Prix de Deauville, UK Coronation Cup & Irish Champion Stakes). His 11 stakes-winning progeny include Gr1-winner Dimitrova.
