US Gr1-winning, dual Gr1-placed & triple Gr2-winning 4YO stallion Twirling Candy (Candy Ride-House Of Danzing, by Chester House) has suffered a minor injury that will prevent him contesting the Gr1 Breeders’ Cup & will be retired to stand alongside his sire at Lane’s End Farm in Kentucky. Twirling Candy recorded 7 wins (including this year’s Gr2 Californian Stakes over 9 furlongs & Gr2 Strub Stakes over 9 furlongs, plus 2010’s Gr1 Malibu Stakes over 7 furlongs in track record time, Gr2 Del Mar Derby over 9 furlongs & Listed Oceanside Stakes over 8 furlongs) & 2 placings (in this year’s Gr1 Pacific Classic Stakes over 10 furlongs & Gr1 Hollywood Gold Cup over 10 furlongs) from 11 starts for US$944,900 earnings. Twirling Candy comes from the extended family of US Triple Crown winner Affirmed.
