In the US overnight, front-running 5YO gelding Rapid Redux (Pleasantly Perfect-Thiscatsforcaryl, by Storm Cat) scored over 7 furlongs at Laurel Park in Maryland to notch his 19th successive victory & tie the North American record for consecutive wins held by Zenyatta & Peppers Pride. During his winning streak, Kentucky-bred Rapid Redux (trained by David Wells) “has raced at 7 different racetracks & distances ranging from 5-9 furlongs” noted bloodhorse.com. He was originally a US$85,000 yearling at the 2007 Keeneland september Sale; however he was subsequently claimed for just US$6,250 in October 2010 & overall now boasts 25 wins & 2 placings from 39 starts for US$332,544 earnings.
