UK Tatts HIT Day-4: $215k Obviously

Friday, 28th October 2011

In the UK auction ring overnight, British-born Jamie Lloyd (now an agent & trainer in California) & Boomer Bloodstock’s Craig Rounsefell paid top price of 130,000 guineas (A$215,000) for 3YO gelding Obviously (Choisir-Leala, by Montjeu) during the final session at the 4-day Tattersalls Autumn Horses-In-Training Sale at Newmarket. Obviously (consigned from trainer Peter Fahey’s Roefield Stables on behalf of Clare View Farms) had earned a Timeform rating of 99 following a handicap win at Dundulk in Ireland a fortnight ago. Lloyd commented: “He was our top pick of the sale. He is for Mike Murphy & he is just our sort of horse - he is lightly raced, progressive, will get the 2 turns, is a good-looking horse & has a great walk. He has also won on both turf & the all-weather.”
