US Flying Zee Dispersal: US$370k Lemon Drop Kid Filly

Friday, 28th October 2011

The final session of the Kentucky Yearling Sale was immediately followed by the Phase I of the dispersal of the late Carl Lizza junior’s Flying Zee Stable at Fasig-Tipton’s Newtown Paddocks complex in Lexington. Kentucky-based Hill n Dale Farms bloodstock services director Donato Lanni (acitng for Leonard Lavin’s Glen Hill Farm in Florida) paid top price of US$370,00 for a yearling filly by Lemon Drop Kid (out of stakes-winning Salt Lake mare Salty Romance) consigned by Hidden Brook Farm as agent for Flying Zee. Lanni told bloodhorse.com: “She’s a lovely filly. All the right guys were on her. Everybody waited for her. She checked every box; she moved great; she did everything right. I’m happy to have gotten her from Flying Zee. Carl Lizza was a great breeder & he did so much for the industry. It’s good to have one from such a good operation.”
