4 Aust-Bred Winners At China Championships

In China, Australian-bred horses dominated the annual All China Flat Racing Championships at the Orient Lucky City International Racecourse in Wuhan, winning 4 of the 5 thoroughbred races:

  • 3YO colt Bright Future (Lonhro-Madame Dehereos) won the 3YO Championship (2100m); he was a $160,000 yearling consigned by Shipton Lodge at the 2010 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney.
  • 4YO mare Fly Fly (Rohatyn-Ionian Lady) won the Open Class Sprint (1000m); she was a $3,250 purchase at the Inglis Melbourne August Sale.
  • 2YO filly Race Eagle (Henny Hughes-Ma Victoire) won the 2YO Championship (1000m); she was a $10,000 yearling consigned by Ampulla Lodge at the 2011 Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne. Race Eagle is Henny Hughes’ 1st southern hemisphere-sired winner.
  • 5YO entire Vanguard (Amalfi-Shintori) won over 1800m; he was a $1,600 2YO at the 2009 Magic Millions Summer Carnival Sale.
