Galah Wins Carbine Club Stakes

Monday, 31st October 2011

Flagship Arrowfield Stud stallion & former Australian Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a group success when top-weighted colt Galah (Redoute’s Choice-Dink, by Distorted Humor) notched his 4th successive victory coming down the middle of the straight from back in the field to grab victory by a short-halfhead in the final stride of the $250,000 Gr3 Inglis Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) for 3YOs at Flemington. Hot favourite Galah (ridden by Kerrin McEvoy for trainer Peter Snowden) defeated fellow colt Highly Recommended (Fastnet Rock-Suggestive, by Al Hareb) & the gelding Saint Etienne (Spinning World-Toby Bess, by King Of Kings). Galah now has 4 wins & a runner-up from 5 starts for $316,900 earnings. (Click on the link for full race details from Group Race Results at AAP Racing.)
