Sister Madly Wins Salinger Stakes

Flagship Arrowfield Stud stallion & former Australian Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a group success when favoured 5YO mare Sister Madly (Redoute's Choice-Jade Tiara, by Bureaucracy) gained the decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the $300,000 Gr2 Salinger Stakes (1200m) at Flemington. Sister Madly (ridden by Damien Oliver for trainer John Sadler) scored by a nose from 5YO gelding Rarefied (Commands-Subtle, by Night Shift) with a further short-halfhead to fellow 5YO gelding Temple Of Boom (Piccolo-Temple Spirit, by Special Dane). Sister Madly (passed-in for $775,000 on a reserve of $800,000 when consigned by Edinburgh Park as a yearling at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney & subsequently sold for $1 million to Bill Mitchell, acting on behalf of Segenhoe Stud, at this year’s Magic Millions May National Sale on the Queensland Gold Coast) now has 4 wins (also including September’s Gr3 Sportingbet Sprint Series Heat 2 Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield & February’s Gr3 Southern Cross Stakes over 1200m at Randwick) & 8 placings (including her last 2 starts in the Gr1 Manikato Stakes 1200m at Moonee Valley on October 1 & Gr2 Tristarc Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield on October 15, plus 2010's Gr1 Robert Sangster Stakes over 1200m at Morphettville, Gr2 Yallambee Classic over 1200m at Morphettville & Listed Sheraco Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill, as well as 2009's Gr1 Arrowfield Stud Flight Stakes over 1600m at Randwick & Listed Reginald Allen Quality over 1400m at Randwick) from 17 starts for $680,180 earnings.
