Eight Till Late Wins WA Champion Stakes

Monday, 14th November 2011

Last season's Australian Champion Sire, former Australian Racehorse-Of-The-Year & 11-time Gr1-winning World Champion Miler Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a group success (& 32nd individual stakes-winner) when daughter Eight Till Late (Lonhro-Future Choice, by Redoute's Choice) prevailed in a 3-way photo-finish to the $200,000 Gr3 WA Champion Stakes (1600m) for 3YO fillies at Ascot in Perth. Eight Till Late (ridden by Paul Harvey for trainer Shane Edwards) scored by a long-head from Red Hot Sax (Saxon-Lonicera, by Chanteclair) with a further neck to Almachino (Al Maher-Zecchino, by Fairy King).  Eight Till Late (a $45,000 weanling at the 2009 Magic Millions National Sale) now has 1 win from 3 starts for $132,280 earnings.
