Hay List Owners Ponder Move To Melb Stable

Thursday, 24th November 2011

WA-owned multiple Gr1-winning 6YO gelded sprinter Hay List (Statue Of Liberty-Sing Hallelujah, by Is It True) “is close to resuming full work after recovering from a nasty leg infection” reported The West Australian. “But whether he returns to John McNair's Gosford stable or another trainer is yet to be determined.” Managing part-owner Terry Davenport confirmed Hay List (who has been in pre-training at Muskoka Farm in NSW) “would likely join a Melbourne stable if he races there over the Autumn carnival” & prominent Victorian trainer Mark Kavanagh “is one of several names that have been mentioned”. Davenport said he was “leaning towards the Melbourne carnival as a launching pad to an international campaign, provided Hay List bounces back to top form”. He noted: “Our main problem is Sydney or Melbourne - where we're going to go. That takes a certain amount of thought. I'm probably leaning more to Melbourne as their big carnival is coming up. We've had good offers to go overseas from the UK, Dubai & Hong Kong. He really needs to do his thing here first, but on the other hand, the UK is as good as it gets.”
