Black Caviar Among 17 Gr1 Futurity Entries
Unbeaten 5YO mare Black Caviar (Bel Esprit-Helsinge, by Desert Sun) who recorded her 9th Gr1 triumph & 19th successive win in last weekend's Gr1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington in Melbourne is among the 17 nominations for this Saturday's $500,000 Gr1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield. Trainer Peter Moody confirmed yesterday he will "monitor her condition closely" & make a decision on whether she starts for the 3rd successive weekend before tomorrow's (Wednesday's) 10am Futurity acceptance deadline. Among the other nominations are boom Sydney sprinter Rain Affair (winner of his past 8 starts & 9 of 10 overall), last year's Gr1 Cox Plate winner Pinker Pinker, leading New Zealand milers King Mufhasa & Wall Street, plus Gr1-winners Playing God, Scenic Shot & Eagle Falls.
