Luke's Luck Wins Karrakatta Plate

Monday, 2nd April 2012

Glenlogan Park Stud's 4-time Gr1-winning stallion & former Australian champion 1st-season sire Show A Heart (Brave Warrior-Miss Sandman, by Regal Advice) added a juvenile group success when his colt Luke's Luck (Show A Heart-Red Queen, by Redoute's Choice) gained the judge's decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the $150,000 Gr2 Karakatta Plate (1200m) for 2YOs at Ascot in Perth. Luke's Luck (ridden by Shaun McGruddy for trainer Trevor Andrews) scored by a long-neck from the filly Keeper Quiet (Scandal Keeper-Rosie's Bungalow, by Serheed) with a further neck to equal-favourite fellow filly Miss Solis (Oratorio-Longoria, by Lujain). Luke's Luck (a $150,000 yearling consigned by Rheinwood Pastoral at the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale) took his record to 2 wins & a placing (in March's Listed Supremacy Stakes over 1100m at Ascot) from 5 starts for $358,950 earnings.
