Lonhro Book Of 110 Mares In US
John Holloway also reported in The Sydney Morning Herald: "The resounding Golden Slipper win by Lonhro's son Pierro has sent great vibes around his US base in Kentucky, where the champion racehorse-stallion is committed to a book of 110 top broodmares in his 1st northern hemisphere season. US breeders have kicked a huge goal by being able to gain a covering with Lonhro at the bargain fee of US$30,000 & those fortunate enough to secure one have sent some of their best broodmares to the handsome black stallion. Darley naturally has the bulk of his coverings & they include 2 former champion Aussie mares in Assertive Lass & Danelagh, the latter a Blue Diamond winner & dam of freakish Hong Kong galloper Vengeance of Rain. Apart from that pair, 4 Gr1-performers are included in his court, including: Gr1 Kentucky Oaks winner Flute, owned by Juddmonte Farms; Live Oak Stud sent Gr1-performers Gold Affluent & Manistique; Miss Houdini (which has produced a Derby winner in Papa Clem); while Darley is also sending Sky Song, the dam of Octagonal's best overseas performer Laverock."
