Singleton Says Challenge Frankel To Race Caviar In Aust
Meanwhile high-profile owner-breeder turned turf columnist John Singleton declared this morning in The Daily Telegraph: "The Black Caviar challenge from England is intriguing. The offer is to boost a race in the UK to $1.5 million to race the unbeaten Frankel over 1600m. Black Caviar has not even been over 1600m. Ever. I think every race club in Australia would put on a Miracle Mile here & pay for Frankel to race Black Caviar over 1600m & pay more than the Poms or the Sheik. And there is a little Aussie battler I know called More Joyous who would be in it. Imagine the top 9 or 9-rated milers in Australia versus Frankel. Let's bring him here. Trainer Sir Henry Cecil wouldn't be so silly & neither will Peter Moody. But it would be the biggest thing in Australian racing ever. At least worth a counter-offer."
