Bermaise Wins Matchmaker Classic

Former Arrowfield Stud shuttler Orientate (Mt Livermore-Dream Team, by Cox's Ridge) added a black-type success when 6YO mare Bermaise (Orientate-Chilkat, by Miswaki) scored a half-length victory in the $80,000 Listed Matchmaker Classic (1400m) for fillies & mares at Ascot. Bermaise (ridden by Brad Parnham for trainer Neville Parnham) defeated 3YO filly Comtesse La Gran (Saxon-Screech, by Canny Lad) & 4YO mare Resetgold (Reset-Cryptography, by Bubble Gum Fellow). Bermaise (a $38,000 yearling consigned by Arrowfield Stud at the 2007 Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne) took her record to 9 wins & 10 placings from 45 starts for $279,205 earnings.
