Ortem Fire Wins NZB Insurance Stakes

White Robe Lodge's multiple group-winning Australian-bred stallion Gallant Guru (Montjeu-Proud Halo, by Don't Say Halo) recorded his 1st stakes-winner when daughter Ortem Fire (Gallant Guru-Emerald Fire, by Honor Grades) scored by a half-head in the NZ$50,000 Listed NZ Bloodstock Insurance Stakes (1600m) for 3YO fillies at Riccarton Park (also 3rd leg of 4-race NZ Bloodstock Southern Filly-Of-The-Year series). Ortem Fire (ridden by Jay Misbah for trainers Brian & Shane Anderton) defeated Asavant (Zabeel-Pins 'n' Needles, by Pins) & Are You Devious (Captain Rio-Gold Amber, by Gold Brose). Ortem Fire took her record to 3 wins & 4 placings (including March's Listed NZ Bloodstock Airfreight Stakes over 1400m at Wingatui & February's Listed Southland Guineas over 1600m at Ascot Park) from 10 starts for NZ$56,900 earnings.
