Friday Debut By Last Foal From Hall-Of-Fame Star Let's Elope
The last foal from former Australian Horse-Of-The-Year, 1991 Gr1 Melbourne Cup winner & recent Australian Hall-Of-Fame inductee Let's Elope (Nassipour-Sharon Jane, by Battle Wagon) has been nominated to make her race debut at Bendigo on Friday. Trainer Nigel Blackiston has entered 3YO filly Karata (Elvstroem-Let's Elope) for a 1400m Maiden Plate, but warned she won't run if the track is rain-affected, teling the informant.co.nz: "Her mother didn't like wet tracks & she doesn't like them either. She had a nice trial & finished off well (a fortnight ago over 1000m at Cranbourne) but we just want to find the driest track possible for her." Blackiston was the stable foreman when Bart Cummings trained Let's Elope, who notched 11 wins (4 Gr1 victories, also including the Gr1 Caulfield Cup & Gr1 Australian Cup, plus 4 Gr1-placings) for $2.9 million prize-money.
