New York Seeks Public Comment On Race-Day Lasix

Meanwhile the New York State Racing & Wagering Board announced it is "re-considering its rules regarding race-day Furosemide (Lasix)" & has begun a 2-week "public comment period from people in the horse racing industry on the prospect of whether or not to continue to allow the use of the drug". NYSRWB chairman john Sabini noted: "We are taking significant action to address the significant challenges facing horse racing. There are serious & valid concerns about the safety of racehorses & their riders. The Board's consideration of changing its race-day drug policies starts a conversation whose time has come."
