US triple Gr1-winning stallion Skip Trial (Bailjumper-Looks Promising, by Promised Land) "a perennial leading Florida sire & one of the last links to the Damascus sire-line, was euthanased at Bridlewood Farm in Ocala due to the infirmities of old age" at 30, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Skip Trial (who stood his entire career at Bridlewood since 1988 & was pensioned from breeding in 2010) is the sire of US Racing Hall-Of-Famer & 1998 Horse-Of-The-Year Skip Away (earner of US$9,616,360). His average-earnings-per-starter of US$85,774 "ranks him among the top 2% of sires". On the track, Skip Trial (a US$25,000 yearling at the 2003 Keeneland September Sale) recorded 16 wins (including the Gr1 Gulfstream Park Handicap twice & Gr1 Haskell Invitational) & 9 placings for US$1,837,451 earnings.
