Multiple Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler & former star Australian sprinter Choisir (Danehill Dancer-Great Selection, by Lunchtime) added a black-type success (& 37th individual stakes-winner, following his 36th in the previous race on the card with Scorpio Queen – details next item in today's news) when 4YO gelding Celtic Dancer (Choisir-Little Wonder Why, by Kala Dancer) scored by a head in the $175,000 Listed Prime Minister's Cup (1300m) at the Gold Coast. Celtic Dancer (ridden by Tim Bell for trainer Noel Doyle) defeated favoured 6YO mare Mid Summer Music (Oamaru Force-Samsara Lady, by Nassipour) & top-weighted 5YO gelding Phelan Ready (More Than Ready-Nancy Eleanor, by Blevic). Celtic Dancer (a $40,000 yearling consigned by Klemley Park at the 2009 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale) took his record to 6 wins & 6 placings (including 2011's Gr3 Gold Coast Guineas over 1200m at the Gold Coast & Listed Brisbane Racing Club Queensland Day over 1350m at Doomben) from 24 starts for $381,350 earnings.
