Curren Black Hill Wins Japan Gr1 NHK Mile Cup

In Japan yesterday, unbeaten colt Curren Black Hill (Daiwa Major-Charleston Harbor, by Grindstone) maintained his perfect record with a 3.5-lengths victory in the ¥191.76 million (A$2.169m) Gr1 NHK Mile Cup (1600m) for 3YOs at Tokyo. Front-running favoutite Curren Black Hill (ridden by Shinichiro Akiyama for trainer Osamu Hirata) defeated fellow colt & last year's Japanese Champion Juvenile Alfredo (Symboli Kris S-Princess Camellia, by Sunday Silence) who was ridden by Australian jockey Craig Williams & another colt Clarente (Dance In The Dark-Erimo Pixy, by Dancing Brave). Last month Curren Black Hill (unraced as a 2YO) also won the Gr2 New Zealand Trophy (1600m) at Hanshin & overall now has 4 wins from 4 starts for ¥164.904 million (A$1.865m) earnings.
