Galileo Adds UK Black-Type 2

Former Coolmore shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) added another UK black-type success when favoured Irish-bred 5YO mare Vita Nova (Galileo-Treca, by Darshaan) scored a 1.75-lengths victory in the £35,000 (A$53,000) Listed Warwick Stakes (12 furlongs) for mares 4YO & up at Goodwood. Vita Nova (ridden by Ian Mongan for trainer Sir Henry Cecil) defeated fellow Irish-bred 5YO mare Shimmering Surf (Danehill Dancer-Sun On The Sea, by Bering) & 4YO mare Crème Anglaise (Motivator-Reading Habit, by Half A Year). Vita Nova was a 150,000 guineas (A$233,000) yearling at the 2008 Tattersalls October Sale. Overall she not has 4 wins & 3 runners-up (including 2011's Gr1 Yorkshire Oaks over 12 furlongs at York, Gr2 Lancashire Oaks over 12 furlongs at Haydock & Listed Pinnacle Stakes over 12 furlongs at Haydock) from 8 starts for £125,273 (A$188,000) earnings.
