King's Best Adds French Gr2

Monday, 7th May 2012

In France, former Darley shuttler King's Best (Kingmambo-Allegretta, by Lombard) added a group success when The Aga Khan's home-bred colt Kesampour (King's Best-Kasatana, by Hernando) maintained his unbeaten record with victory by a head in the €130,000 (A$161,000) Gr2 Prix Greffulhe (2000m) for 3YOs at Saint-Cloud. Favourite Kesampour (ridden by Christophe-Patrice Lemaire for trainer Mikel Delzangles) defeated UK-bred colt Albion (With Approval-Alborada, by Alzao) & Irish-bred colt Eldandy (Danehill Dancer-Spinola, by Spinning World). Kesampour took his record to 4 wins (also including April's Listed Prix Francois Mathet over 2100m at Saint-Cloud) from 4 starts for €130,600 (A$162,000) earnings.
