Gr1-winning & dual Gr1-placed Arrowfield Stud stallion Snitzel (Redoute's Choice-Snippets' Lass, by Snippets) added a juvenile black-type quinella (& 8th individual stakes-winner) when favoured colt Sizzling (Snitzel-Admirelle, by General Nediym) raced away for a 4.25-lengths victory in the $100,000 Listed Ken Russell Memorial Classic (1200m) for 2YOs at the Gold Coast. Sizzling (ridden by Chris Munce for trainer Kelso Wood) defeated fellow colts Dances On Stars (Snitzel-Starnet, by Last Tycoon) & Dansonate (Snippetson-Quickstep Lady, by Commands). Sizzling (a $260,000 yearling consigned by Evergreen Stud at the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale) took his record to 2 wins & 2 runners-up (in 2011's Gr3 B.J.McLachlan Stakes over 1200m at Doomben & Listed Phelan Ready Stakes over 1000m at Eagle Farm) from 5 starts for $197,400 earnings.
