$33k Foxwedge Fee At Newgate Farm

Newgate Farm announced Gr1-winning & dual Gr1-placed 3YO colt Foxwedge (Fastnet Rock-Forest Native, by Forest Wildcat) will begin his stallion career at an initial service fee of $33,000 later this year. Foxwedge is due to fly out of Australia on Sunday (May 13) to contest the UK Gr1 King's Stand Stakes (5 furlongs) at Royal Ascot on June 18, before retiring to Newgate (as the farm's foundation sire) to serve his 1st mares in the 2012 Australian Spring. Foxwedge (a $925,000 yearling consigned by Luskin Park Stud at the 2010 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) currently boasts 5 wins (including March's Gr1 William Reid Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley, plus 2011's Gr2 Roman Consul Stakes over 1200m at Randwick & Gr3 San Domenico Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill) & 4 placings (including March's Gr1 Newmarket Handicap over 1200m at Flemington, plus 2011's Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes over 1200m at Flemington, Gr2 Todman Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill & Gr3 Run To The Rose over 1200m at Rosehill) from 12 starts for $942,450 earnings.
