Dubawi Adds UK Gr3

In the UK overnight, triple Gr1-winning former Darley shuttler Dubawi (Dubai Millennium-Zomaradah, by Deploy) added a group success Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum's Irish-bred colt Mickdaam (Dubawi-Ribot's Guest, by Be My Guest) scored by a nose in the £55,000 (A$83,000) Gr3 Chester Vase (12.5 furlongs) for 3YOs at Chester. Mickdaam (ridden by Tony Hamilton for trainer Richard Fahey) defeated fellow colts Model Pupil (Sinndar-Modesta, by Sadler's Wells) & Irish-bred Call To Battle (King's Best-Dance The Classics, by Sadler's Wells). Mickdaam was initially a 72,000 guineas (A$112,000) weanling at the 2009 UK Tattersalls December Sale & subsequently a 360,000 guineas (A$558,000) yearling at the 2010 UK Tattersalls October Sale. Overall he now has 3 wins (also including March's UAE Listed Al Bastakiya over 1800m at Meydan) & 3 placings (including April's UK Tattersalls Millions 3YO Trophy over 10 furlongs at Newmarket & February's Gr3 UAE 2000 Guineas over 1600m at Meydan) from 9 starts for £289,136 (A$434,000) earnings.
