Monday, 14th May 2012

Gr1-winning former Coolmore shuttler Footstepsinthesand (Giant's Causeway-Glatisant, by Rainbow Quest) added a UK group success when Irish-bred 5YO mare Chachamaidee (Footstepsinthesand-Canterbury Lace, by Danehill) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the £55,000 (A$83,000) Gr3 Chartwell Fillies Stakes (7 furlongs on all-weather) for fillies & mares at Lingfield Park. Chachamaidee (ridden by Tom Queally for trainer Sir Henry Cecil) defeated Irish-bred 6YO mare Night Lily (Night Shift-Kedross, by King Of Kings) & Australian-bred 5YO mare Dysphonia (Lonhro-Stutter, by Night Shift). Overall she now has 5 wins (also including 2011's Gr3 Oak Tree Stakes over 7 furlongs at Goodwood & 2010's Listed Michael Seely memorial Fillies' Stakes over 7 furlongs at York) & 7 placings (in 2011's Gr1 Sun Chariot Stakes over 8 furlongs at Newmarket, Gr2 Challenge Stakes over 7 furlongs at Newmarket, Gr2 Windsor Forest Stakes over 8 furlongs at Royal Ascot, Gr3 Sceptre Stakes over 7 furlongs at Doncaster & Gr3 Dahlia Stakes over 9 furlongs at Newmarket, plus 2010's Listed Valiant Stakes over 8 furlongs at Ascot & 2009's Gr3 Albany Stakes over 6 furlongs at Royal Ascot) from 16 starts for £201,239 (A$302,000) earnings.
