1st Winner For European Freshman Sire Shahin

In Italy, US-bred Gr2-placed 9YO freshman stallion Shahin (Kingmambo-String Quartet, by Sadler's Wells) recorded his 1st winner when 2YO filly Secretry In Black (Shahin-Spy Queen, by Spymaster) scored on debut over 1000m at Chilivani. Her sire Shahin stands at Razza Emiliana for €3,500 (A$4,300). On the track, Shahin (a US$950,000 yearling purchase by Shadwell) won or placed in 6 of 14 starts, including runner-up in each of the Gr2 Princess Of Wales's Stakes (12 furlongs) at Newbury, Gr3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes (13.5 furlongs) at Newbury & Listed Tapster Stakes (12 furlongs) at Goodwood, plus 3rd in the Listed March Stakes (14 furlongs) at Goodwood.
