1st Winner For US Freshman Sire Chatain

US dual Gr3-winning 9YO freshman stallion Chatain (Forest Wildcat-Roujoleur, by Red Ransom) recorded his 1st winner when front-running 2YO filly Pardonmecomingthru (Chatain-Bridal Tea, by Gulch) scored on debut over 4.5 furlongs at Lone Star Park in Texas for trainer Caroline Dodwell. Pardonmecomingthru (a half-sister to Gr2-winning NZ Westbury Stud stallion Postponed) was a US$20,000 yearling at the 2011 Texas August Sale. Her sire Chatain stands at Holly Hill Farm in Louisiana for US$2,000. On the track, Chatain (a US$250,000 purchase at the 2004 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale) recorded 5 wins (including a track record 1min 33.87sec for 8 furlongs in the 2007 Gr3 Hal's Hope Stakes at Gulfstream Park, plus the 2007 Listed William Livingston Stakes over 6 furlongs at The Meadowlands & 2008 renewal of the Gr3 Hal's Hope Stakes) & a runner-up from 9 starts for over US$275,000 earnings.
