Chinchon Wins Singapore Gr1 International Cup

In Singapore yesterday, former Collingrove shuttler Marju (Last Tycoon-Flame Of Tara, by Artaius) celebrated a Gr1 victory when Irish-bred 7YO entire Chinchon (Marju-Jarama, by Hector Protector) scored a 3-lengths victory in the S$3 million (A$2.4m) Gr1 International Cup (2000m) at Kranji. Chinchon (ridden by Olivier Doleuze for trainer C.Laffon-Parias) defeated US-bred 4YO gelding Zaidan (Street Cry-Element Of Truth, by Atticus) & South African-bred 5YO Flax (Silvano-Bejewelled Spring, by Elliodor). Chinchon took his record to 7 wins (also including March's Gr3 Prix Exbury over 2000m at Saint-Cloud in France, 2010's US Gr1 United Nations Stakes over 11 furlongs at Monmouth Park, French Gr3 Prix Exbury over 2000m at Saint-Cloud & 2009's French Gr3 La Coupe De Maisons-Laffitte over 2000m at Maisons-Laffitte) & 8 placings (including 2011's US Gr1 United Nations Stakes over 11 furlongs at Monmouth Park, plus 2009's French Gr2 Grand Prix De Chantilly over 2400m at Chantilly, French Gr3 Prix Exbury over 2000m at Saint-Cloud & French Listed Prix De Boulogne over 2000m at Longchamp, plus 2008's French Gr2 Prix Eugene Adam over 2000m at Maisons-Laffitte & French Gr3 La Coupe De Maisons-Laffitte over 2000m) from 27 starts for $2,874,832 earnings.
