Former Coolmore shuttler & champion 2YO Johannesburg (Hennessy-Myth, by Ogygian) added a US group success when 5YO gelding Hudson Steele (Johannesburg-Strike The Sky, by Smart Strike) scored a 2.5-lengths victory in the US$300,000 Gr2 Dixie Stakes (9 furlongs on turf) at Pimlico. Hudson Steele (ridden by Javier Castellano for trainer Todd Pletcher) defeated 4YO entire Humble And Hungry (Limehouse-Cukee, by Langfuhr) & 6YO gelding Forte Dei Marmi (Selkirk-Frangy, by Sadler's Wells). Husdon Steele took his record to 6 wins (also including April's Listed Henry Clark Stakes over 8 furlongs at Pimlico, plus 2010's Listed Jersey Derby over 8.5 furlongs at Monmouth Park) & 3 placings (including 2011's Gr3 Fort Marcy Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Belmont Park & 2010's Listed Oliver Stakes over 8 furlongs at Indiana Downs) from 10 starts for US$435,124 earnings.
