Zennista Wins NZ Rangitikei Gold Cup

In New Zealand, multiple Gr1-winning former NZ Java Lodge & Independent Stallions Victoria shuttler Zenno Rob Roy (Sunday Silence-Roamin Rachel, by Mining) added a black-type success (& 9th individual stakes-winner world-wide) when favoured 4YO mare Zennista (Zenno Rob Roy-Zarnitsa, by Maroof) scored a 3.25-lengths victory in the NZ$50,000 Listed Rangitikei Gold Cup (1600m) at Awapuni. Zennista (ridden by Darryl Bradley for trainer Lisa Latta) defeated fellow 4YO mare Nancho Bella (Mr Nancho-Jenny May, by O'Reilly) & 6YO mare Rumour Has It Now (Traditionally-Talk Talk, by Lord Ballina). Zennista (a NZ$20,000 yearling consigned by Oxford Thoroughbreds at the 2009 NZ Bloodstock Festival Sale at Karaka) took her record to 4 wins & 7 placings (including last start's Listed Rotorua Stakes over 1400m at Arawa Park on May 12, plus 2011's Gr1 New Zealand Oaks over 2400m at Trentham & both 2010's Gr3 Hawke's Bay Breeders Gold Trail Stakes over 1200m at Hastings & Listed Ryder Stakes over 1200m at Otaki) from 18 starts for NZ$168,850 earnings.
