Tuesday, 22nd May 2012

Also in Ireland, recently-deceased dual-Derby winning Coolmore stallion & former NZ Windsor Park shuttler Montjeu  (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) added a black-type success when UK-bred 6YO entire Fame And Glory (Montjeu-Gryada, by Shirley Heights) returned from a 7-months spell to score by a neck in the €40,000 (A$51,000) Listed Vintage Crop Stakes (13 furlongs) for 4YOs & up at Navan. Fame And Glory (ridden by Joseph O'Brien for trainer Aidan O'Brien) defeated 5YO mare Unaccompanied (Danehill Dancer-Legend Has It, by Sadler's Wells) & 6YO gelding Steps To Freedom (Statue Of Liberty-Dhakhirah, by Sadler's Wells).
