UK Trainer "Happy For 2nd" Behind Black Caviar
Meanwhile British trainer Eve Johnson Houghton told the UK Press Association she will be ecstatic if her top 6YO sprinter The Cheka (Xaar-Veiled Beauty, by Royal Academy) finishes runner-up behind Australian superstar Black Caviar in next month's Gr1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes (6 furlongs) at Royal Ascot. In recent weeks The Cheka confirmed his prospects as a leading contender for Royal Ascot by winning the Listed Cammidge Trophy (6 furlongs) at Doncaster & then finishing 2nd in last week's Gr2 Duke Of York Stakes (6 furlongs) at York & Johnson Houghton declared bluntly: "He ran really well again last week & my thinking is something has got to be 2nd to Black Caviar, so why shouldn't it be us? To be honest, I don't think Black Caviar is going to be worried about any of the British horses too much & if you offered me second now, I'd bite your hand off!"
