O'Shea Reveals HK Plan For Sea Siren

Friday, 25th May 2012

Trainer John O'Shea revealed tomorrow's Gr1 Doomben 10,000 "is part of a long-range plan" to campaign boom 3YO filly Sea Siren (Fastnet Rock-Express A Smile, by Success Express) "on the international stage" reported racingandsports.com.au. O'Shea "is keen to head to Hong Kong for the Gr1 International Sprint (1200m) at Sha Tin in December with Sea Siren" who a fortnight ago defeated older rivals (& set a new race record) in the Gr1 BTC Cup (1200m) at Doomben on May 12. Sea Siren currently boasts 4 wins (also including February's Gr2 Patinack Farm Light Fingers Stakes over 1200m at Warwick Farm) & 2 placings (including March's Gr2 Patinack Farm Surround Stakes over 1400m at Warwick Farm) from 6 starts & O'Shea noted: "I'm still learning about this filly, but she really appreciates tight-turning tracks. She's won at Canterbury, Warwick Farm & Doomben which are all tight-turning, so in the Spring I'll take her to Melbourne for the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley. She's never raced on a track with wide open spaces like Eagle Farm, Randwick or Flemington."
